About Me.. or You?!

Now that is a question 🙂
This is usually a place on a website where you read all about who we are; our skills, experience and talent, and possibly why you should commission or hire us.

Well, I’m actualy more interested in hearing about You!

I think I discovered this when studying for my BA in Commercial and Portrait Photography:- each year, my Final Major Project seemed to focus on people – people like You!

Year 1 was a Tabletop Book of local businesses in Stonehaven, who had bounced back from the devastation of major flood damage. https://www.blurb.com/b/2241241-after-the-flood

Year 2 paid homage to the “Dear Stranger” portrait work of Shizuka Yokomizo, but taking it a step further.

Year 3, which contributed to my BA Distinction, was a ‘triple portrait’ undertaking of prominent people in NE Scotland. Each portrait set comprised a ‘contextual’ portrait depicting their profession; a Noir Headshot, as a study of simply their face and character; and thirdly, to quote Monty Python “and now for something completely different” – shots of them in ‘alter ego’ mode, or sharing a personal pastime or other aspect of their personality.

In all three projects I discovered (and hopefully shared) not just interesting faces and characters, but also got to know more about the person behind the pose.

So, About Me? My motivation comes from having the privilege of capturing you in a moment of time, with your eyes and your Expression giving us a hint of who you are!
